Bio

Born in Vienna, Austria to American parents, she often attended the opera in embryo, and purportedly kicked in time to the music.  Her father was a violinist in the Wiener Tonkunstler Orchester.  During a cross country drive from Chicago to San Francisco, a three year old Julia became enchanted with The Magic Flute and told her father she wanted to be an opera singer when she grew up.  After many fits and starts, she is still pursuing this dream

Passionate about theater in high school, Julia started taking voice lessons as an adjunct to her dramatic dream.  Later, Julia worked as an IT consultant to support her vocal studies, until she was able to return to school and focus full time on her musical aspirations.

She studied voice with Joan Volek Gersten in Wyoming,  Kathryn Armour and Myron Mcpherson in New York and Robert Hoyem and Eleanor James in Munich.
